Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups Farm2Flour Bread Flour
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons fine sea salt
  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed (about 110°F/43°C)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (for brushing)

Directions:

  1. Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Stir gently and let sit for 5-10 minutes, until the mixture is foamy.

  2. Mix the Dough: In a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the bread flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.

  3. Knead: Knead the dough by hand on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes or in a stand mixer with a dough hook for 5-6 minutes, until smooth and elastic.

  4. First Rise: Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a clean towel or plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm spot for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.

  5. Shape Rolls: Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a smooth ball and place them in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spacing evenly.

  6. Second Rise: Cover the rolls loosely with a towel and let rise for 30-45 minutes, or until they have puffed up significantly.

  7. Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.

  8. Brush with Butter: Remove from the oven and immediately brush the tops with melted butter for a glossy, flavorful finish.

Serve warm with butter for a comforting dinner addition. The rich taste of our freshly milled bread flour ensures these rolls are soft, flavorful, and utterly irresistible.
