Ingredients:
Dough:
- 1 cup warm whole milk (110°F)
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 5 cups Farm2Flour bread flour, (start with 4.5 cups, add the remaining 1/2 cup as needed)
- 1 tsp salt
Filling:
- 1/2 cup salted butter, softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup heavy cream (for pouring over rolls)
Maple Cream Cheese Glaze:
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup salted butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp pure maple syrup (can sub vanilla extract)
- 2–3 tbsp heavy cream (for desired consistency)
Directions:
-
Prepare the Dough. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and a pinch of sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes, or until foamy. Add the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and salt. Mix until combined. Gradually add 4.5 cups of Farm2Flour bread flour, until a sticky dough forms.
-
Knead the Dough. Use a dough hook or hand knead for 7-9 minutes until smooth and elastic. The dough should be slightly tacky but form a cohesive ball. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled.
-
Prepare the Filling. While the dough rises, make the filling by combining softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl until it forms a thick, spreadable paste.
-
Roll Out the Dough. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out into a 24x15-inch rectangle. Spread the cinnamon filling evenly over the surface, leaving a small border at the top.
-
Shape and Slice. Roll the dough tightly from the long edge, pinching along the seam to seal. Slice into 12 equal rolls and arrange them in a greased 9x13 baking dish.
-
Second Rise and Preheat Oven. Cover the rolls and let them rise for another 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
-
Add Heavy Cream & Bake. Slightly warm the heavy cream, then pour it evenly over the rolls. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden.
-
Prepare the Glaze. For the glaze, beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add powdered sugar, maple syrup, and heavy cream, beating until creamy.
- Serve. Spread the glaze over the warm cinnamon rolls and enjoy!
Soft, gooey, and filled with rich cinnamon flavor, these cinnamon rolls are the ultimate treat for any occasion. Using Farm2Flour’s bread flour brings a fresh, bakery-style texture and taste that you can enjoy right at home.
