Fresh Hamburger Buns
Share
There’s nothing quite like a good hamburger — especially when it’s stacked on an amazing bun. These soft, golden burger buns are the perfect match for your summer cookouts, weeknight sliders, or anytime you’re craving something extra special. Made with our freshly milled Organic All-Purpose Flour, these buns are flavorful and free from anything artificial. Just real ingredients and the kind of freshness you can taste.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup warm water (about 110°F)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 3 1/2 cups Farm2Flour All-Purpose Flour (you may need a bit more for kneading)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon milk
Directions:
- In a stand mixer, mix the warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- Add softened butter and egg, mix until combined
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add to wet ingredients
-
Knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour, a tablespoon at a time.
-
First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal portions (you can make more or fewer buns depending on your preferred size). Shape each portion into a smooth ball and flatten slightly to form buns.
-
Second Rise: Place the shaped buns onto a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover with a towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes to an hour, or until puffed up.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F
- Brush the tops of the buns with a little milk for a golden, glossy finish. Bake the buns for 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top.
- Let the buns cool on a wire rack before slicing and using for your burgers!
Try them once, and you may never buy store-bought buns again!
