Fresh flour tortillas are a staple in many cuisines, offering a warm, soft embrace for your favorite fillings. Unlike store-bought tortillas that often contain enriched flour and preservatives, homemade tortillas made with our Organic All Purpose flour provides a fresh taste and superior texture that are perfect for tacos, wraps, or as a side to your favorite dishes.
Ingredients:
- 3 cups Farm2Flour All-Purpose Flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1 cup hot water
Directions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking powder, then add butter. Stir until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Pour in the warm water.
- Knead until the mixture comes together.
- Divide the dough into 10-12 equal portions.
- Roll each portion into a ball and flatten slightly with your palm.
- Cover the flattened dough balls with a clean kitchen towel and let them rest for at least 15 minutes (or up to an hour).
- Keeping your work surface and rolling pin lightly floured, roll each dough ball into a circle.
- Cook on a cast-iron or heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat until lightly browned on both sides.
