Simple & Authentic Fresh Flour Tortillas

Fresh flour tortillas are a staple in many cuisines, offering a warm, soft embrace for your favorite fillings. Unlike store-bought tortillas that often contain enriched flour and preservatives, homemade tortillas made with our Organic All Purpose flour provides a fresh taste and superior texture that are perfect for tacos, wraps, or as a side to your favorite dishes.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups Farm2Flour All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 cup hot water

Directions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking powder, then add butter. Stir until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  2. Pour in the warm water.

  3. Knead until the mixture comes together.

  4. Divide the dough into 10-12 equal portions.

  5. Roll each portion into a ball and flatten slightly with your palm.

  6. Cover the flattened dough balls with a clean kitchen towel and let them rest for at least 15 minutes (or up to an hour).

  7. Keeping your work surface and rolling pin lightly floured, roll each dough ball into a circle.

  8. Cook on a cast-iron or heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat until lightly browned on both sides.
