Ingredients
- 2β3 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 1β cups warm water
- 4 tbsp real olive oil
- 2Β½ tsp active dry yeast
- 4 cups Farm2Flour Bread Flour
Directions
- Combine salt, sugar, olive oil, and active dry yeast in 1β
cups of warm water. Let sit for 5 minutes to activate the yeast.
- Sift 4 cups of Farm2Flour Bread Flour in a separate bowl.
- Mix the wet ingredients with the flour until well combined. (Tip: keep the dough slightly wet; more flour can be added as needed.)
- Using a stand mixer with a dough hook, mix for 8β10 minutes or until the dough doesnβt stick to the bowl. The dough should slowly fall off the hook. If hand-kneading, coat your hands in olive oil to prevent sticking and knead for 8β10 minutes.
- Cover the dough with plastic wrap and a damp cloth, and place in a warm area (75β85Β°F) for 35 minutes to rise.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and shape it into a rectangle, tucking the ends underneath.
- Grease a 5x7 bread pan with lard or butter, then place the dough inside, seam side down. Press down firmly to degas the dough. Pop any bubbles on the surface with a toothpick.
- Oil the top of the dough, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise until it's at least 1 inch above the pan.
- Preheat the oven to 350Β°F.
- Bake the bread uncovered for 22 minutes.
- Remove the bread from the oven, cover with a loose foil tent, and bake for an additional 20β22 minutes.
- Carefully remove the loaf from the pan and let it cool completely before slicing.
And there you have it! A warm, wholesome loaf made from scratch with Farm2Flourβs stone-milled organic bread flour. Enjoy every slice!
